Installing EEGer4 440s

  1. Download the installer for the latest version of the EEGer software from our support site's download page. If using Microsoft Edge, you may need to choose to Keep the file for the download to finish.

  2. Make sure the EEG amplifier (Optima 2) or EEGer security dongle (green USB) are not connected to the computer at this stage.
  3. Once the download is finished, run the EEGer installer. Click NextInstall, OK, and Finish when prompted. The default installation settings are okay and do not need to be adjusted.

Preparing the Computer

  1. Set the Windows Taskbar to Autohide to allow EEGer to display properly.
  2. Adjust Display Settings to meet EEGer's requirements.
  3. If using an external monitor with EEGer, set Windows to Extend Displays.
  4. Adjust the computer's function keys if neccesary.
  5. Connect the EEGer security dongle & EEG amplifier to the computer.
  6. Install the dongle's enabling keyfile.

Configuring EEGer

  1. Open EEGer from the computer's desktop or Windows Start Menu. When opened, several prompts will appear that we can click OK to. 
  2. Username prompt will appear - enter the name of the person who will be using the system (optional).
  3. At this stage, no error messages should be present in the center of the EEGer screen. If errors are present, please repeat Steps 4-5 of Preparing the Computer.

Configuring EEGer for the Neurobit Optima

  1. Open EEGer and navigate to Options>EEGer Configuration Options>Devices from the top toolbar of EEGer's main screen.
  2. Locate option 6 Source of EEG/peripheral data and select Optima from the list of devices.
  3. Click Close preferences window in the bottom-right of the option menu to apply any changes and return to EEGer's main screen.

  5. On some systems, you may need to install the Neurobit Optima drivers manually. Please follow these instructions to ensure that these driver files are installed.

Installing Parsec 

Mentors may be connecting to your system during the EOP via Parsec. This will allow them to take control of your computer and provide help and guidance. To install Parsec, follow the instructions in this Knowledge Base Article.

Installing EKC Files

The training licenses provided with the EEGer Training Kit require special files to run live sessions with preconfigured session plans. These instructions are given to the EEGer system by EKC files. These will be sent to you by email from EEG Store.
  1. Download the four EKC files and save them to your computer's desktop.

  2. Connect your EEGer dongle to the computer - the EEGer dongle must be connected to install an EKC file.

  3. Open EEGer and navigate to Client>Remote-use Options>Install a new EEGer remote-use client (.EKC) from the top toolbar of EEGer's main screen.

  1. A window will appear prompting you to select the EKC file - navigate to your computer’s desktop and select anEKC file saved in Step 1

  2. After a moment, a confirmation message will appear - this Client ID can now be used for live sessions.

  3. Repeat this process for all four EKC files.

Running a Replay Session

At this stage, EEGer should be fully prepared for the first session of the EEGer Online Practicum! It may be beneficial to run a replay session at this stage to get comfortable with navigating the therapist/wave screen.
