This checklist acts as an overview for getting started with home use, creating home use files, and important tips about approaching home use. For additional information, we encourage users to review the knowledge base articles linked below or ask questions on our Community Discord Server.
 

Purchase Process

  1. Determine who will be purchasing the equipment and the license.
  2. Determine if the home-user will be doing two-channel or four-channel training.
  3. Determine which pricing options work best.
  4. Ensure that the home-user has access to a computer that meets EEGer's minimum requirements, with at least two USB 2.0 or 3.0 ports.
  5. Ensure that the home-user has access to an external display, like a monitor or TV that can connect to their computer.
  6. Ensure that the home-user has access to the internet and can connect to it when needed.
  7. Contact EEG Store on Discord or by email to begin the purchase process.
  8. Complete the required Home Use Paperwork and License Paperwork (provided by EEG Store).
  9. Provide EEG Store with the clinicial dongle number that will be used to supervise the home-use system.
  10. Provide payment and shipping information for the equipment.

First-Time Setup | EEGer4 440s or Later

Supervising Clinician
  1. On the clinical system, install the updated keyfile - this will allow update files to be created for the home-user.
  2. Initialize a Client ID for the home-user to use on their system.
  3. Determine the best method to connect to the Home Use system.
  4. Instruct the home-user through the setup process for their system, answering questions as needed.
  5. Practice connecting with the home-user, creating files, instructing the home-user on how to apply electrodes, and supervising sessions remotely.
Home-User
  1. Install EEGer and the home-use keyfile onto the computer.
  2. Connect the home use dongle and amplifier to the computer.
  3. Install an initialized client file from the supervising clinician.

First-Time Setup | EEGer4 440r or Earlier

Supervising Clinician
  1. On the clinical system, install the updated keyfile - this will allow update files to be created for the home-user.
  2. Initialize a Client ID for the home-user to use on their system.
  3. If remotely initializing a flash drive, create an EFD file.
  4. Determine the best method to connect to the Home Use system.
  5. Instruct the home-user through the setup process for their system, answering questions as needed.
  6. Practice connecting with the home-user, creating files, instructing the home-user on how to apply electrodes, and supervising sessions remotely.
Home-User
  1. Install EEGer and the home-use keyfile onto the computer.
  2. Connect the home use dongle and amplifier to the computer.
  3. Connect the home use flash drive to the computer.
  4. If needed, remotely initialize a flash drive for use with EEGer.

Running a Session | EEGer4 440s or Later

  1. Ensure that the home use dongle and amplifier are connected to the computer.
  2. Ensure that the Client ID has a sufficent number of session permissions.
  3. Select an initialized Client ID and begin the session.

Running a Session | EEGer4 440r or Earlier

  1. Ensure that the home use dongle and amplifier are connected to the computer.
  2. Ensure that the home use flash drive is connected to the computer.
  3. Ensure that the Client ID has a sufficent number of session permissions.
  4. Select an initialized Client ID and begin the session.

Remote Update Files & Reviewing Home Use Session Data

  1. Review Home Use session data from the Home Use System.
  2. Create EKR files to remotely update a Home Use Client ID.
